California Dreamin

I know, I'm a horrible blogger. If I actually had a million followers I would feel really bad, but I don't, cause I only have 1 follower! Lol. I've been SUPER busy! Work has been absolutely crazy and I think we're finally winding down enough so that I can relax when I get home and not want to rip my hair out when I have to look at a computer screen for another hour or so to blog!

But I wanted to update you on my trip to CALIFORNIA and Disneyland and more importantly my nephew's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!

My trip home was amazing, just as it always is. And I didn't want to leave, just as a I always say. The time went by way too quickly! Why is it that 5 days during a work week spent at work DRRAAGGSSSS, but then 5 days during a work week spent on vacation FLYYSSS!!!??? Just life I guess?

Anywho, here are some pictures from my trip!

Me my mom and my sister on the tram going into Disneyland

My adorable nephew on his first birthday and my sister holding him, about to walk into Club 33!
(I'll go into details about Club 33 later in this post)

Austin after his first ride ever at Disneyland (It's A Small World)

Austin at his first birthday party!
(Are you seeing a trend here?? And no, I can never have enough pictures of that adorable face!)

Me and the birthday boy after his party!

And me and my sister being our goofy selves!

And finally on my last night; me, my grandma and my Tia Kimmy!

For Austin's first birthday, I took him to JC Penny's to have his 1st birthday pictures taken, they came out so freaking cute! Of course they would when you have such an adorable baby to work with! Here are two of my favorites:

UGH! JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE!!

OBSESSED?? Maybe, but I just love him so much!

Ok so now onto Club 33....  Can I please just say that in each and every way, this place FAR exceeded my expectations! I was however, a little, disappointed upon entering the club. They were doing renovations on the whole building, so the famous door that I posted before in my previous post about Club 33, was blocked. Yes, I know.... I couldn't take a picture in front of the 33 sign like I wanted to. But everything else about the experience was far more than I would ever have hoped for.

I'll take you through a little photo tour.

This is the sight you see upon entering the club through that famous door. Your hostess. After you give your name and reservation information, she calls up and confirms your table.

You can take the lift, or the stairs:

We took the lift:

My menu and plate:

Me at our table, happy as can be!

After you order your meal, you are free to ATTACK the buffet. Here you have a choice of mixed greens, prepared salads, lobster, shrimp, crab, cold cuts, fruit and other cold options:

Then your meal comes. I ordered the Farm Crusted Chicken with Truffled Mac and Cheese and Asparagus:

My mom ordered Fillet Mignon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Greens:

My sister ordered the Smoked Salmon with Risotto and Veggies:

Yes, I had a little bit of each of theirs and EVERYTHING. Let me tell you. EVERYTHING. Was absolutely DELISHHH!

After your finish your meal. MUST. MAKE. ROOM. You are free to try to attack the dessert buffet. Here you will find.... well, anything you can think of really!

The cookies had Club 33 logos and GLITTER!!! Yes, please!!!

I grabbed one of everything just so I can taste it, but I was so full I didn't finish anything. The best thing on this plate (if I had to choose) was the Mickey Coconut Macaroons, they were amazing!!

Then our amazing waitress (who I'll get to in a second) brought this delight for my sister, my nephew and myself since we were all celebrating birthdays!

I couldn't stop taking pictures of this!!

Austin had his own way of awing over this Disney delight, as any 1 year old would:

Now to our waitress.... I had read on a few different blogs about Carolyn. She has been at Club 33 for over 30 years and is one of the most recognized waitress there. According to most Disney blogs I've read, Carolyn is the best one you can get! So imagine my surprise when she walks up to our table and introduces herself!! I just couldn't handle my excitement, I had to take a picture with her! Meet, Carolyn!

Now onto the non-food portion of the Club. (Yes!!! There's more!!)

Here is a picture of the bar, the only place in Disneyland that serves alcohol:

The vanity inside of the ladies bathroom:

Club 33 logo paper towels!

And the famous toilet... yes, I didn't even have to pee, but you think I wouldn't try to push something out so I can say I've used this amazing thing!! Look at this! It's awesome!

Ok now leaving the bathroom, here is a picture of Walt dining at Club 33!

.
A (dark) picture of the Trophy Room

A fake stuffed Vulture, used to be a Animatronic, but it is no longer working.

A hidden microphone inside the chandelier above the tables in the Trophy Room so the talking vulture can eavesdrop on your conversation, and even respond back to you! (Doesn't work anymore)

Lilian Disney's personal butterfly collection (HOW COOL???)

More of her butterflies and other collections of Walt's

An original print of Walt and Shirley Temple (who was an avid Disney fan!)

Another original print of Walt and Mickey Mouse

Another print of Walt actually sketching Mickey Mouse!!

This table was a prop in Disney's Mary Poppins! How cool is that???

Above it is a sketch of Sleeping Beauty's Castle:

And lastly, the saddest part of leaving Club 33... the door to exit. This is the opposite side of the door that is seen from the French Quarters in Disneyland.

I still can't believe I was lucky enough to have been able to go. The lunch was rather expensive, but to me, it was completely priceless. Not many people are able to go and I was so fortunate that my step dad got us in! The hosts and hostesses really treat you like royalty. I was bummed that we didn't see anyone famous inside the club though! I've heard stories of Mickey Rooney just coming and plopping down at a table next to you. Apparently he's a member! Who knew??

If you ever get a chance to go, soak it in! The experience is absolutely amazing and I feel so lucky!! Thank you again Mom and Dan for the opportunity and for fulfilling one of my dreams! I can now check that off of my bucket list!

Until next time!
